Orphan for a Day (OFAD) is a day-long interactive learning experience for Western youth. It helps them understand just a little bit of what orphans in Swaziland go through on a day-to-day basis.
OFAD
• Uses experiential learning to help Western youth understand what orphans in Swaziland face on a daily basis.
• Increases participants’ compassion, empathy and desire to get involved with orphans and the issues they struggle with in this world.
• At the end of the day, students have a heightened sense of gratitude for the privileges they enjoy at home.
• Participants are given ways they can help orphans that are specific, tangible and realistic.
